Soul

Soul

Soul is the result of an open audition for the best singers from around Northwest America, and is made up of nine young anointed performers. With their debut album, Soul (Trinity Records, 1999), Soul have taken their rightful place within urban contemporary music.

The versatility and creativity of this group is shown in cuts like urban flavoured "Uptown" and "No One" which both feature the very talented rap artist Crystal Odom who was also featured on Kenny Smith's So Real album.

Intensity of emotion and expression is found in the ballads "Jesus Gave His Life" and "He Is All I Need", and the prodigal call "Come On Home". "I Love Thinking of You" is a reworking of the Commissioned song of the same name, which is also the basis for the hip-hop flavoured "Thinking About You", also featuring Crystal Odom. The album also contains a version of Bill Wither's "Lean On Me".

Soul has been described as a group of refreshing, energetic yet smooth contemporary vocalists, singing gospel lyrics with urban grooves - a well deserved description you will agree with after listening to their album!
